Simple Requirements
Additional Admissions Requirements Admission standards for graduate studies at California Baptist University can be found in the admissions section of the University Catalog. In addition, each candidate must meet the following requirements for this program:
• Additional Grade Point Average
• A minimum 3.0 GPA for admission
• Prerequisites must be completed within the last five years (completed with a "B-" or better):
• Advanced Pathophysiology
• Advanced Pharmacology*
• Advanced Physical Assessment
• Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or the evaluated equivalency
• Active, unencumbered California Registered Nursing (RN) License
• Professional resume with a Minimum of one (1) to two (2) year of work experience as an RN is required for APRN concentrations (Nurse Practitioner).
• Complete a successful interview with the College of Nursing
• Students are expected to work as a registered nurse during the program to gain clinical experience
• Clearances:
• CPR Certification
• Background Check Clearance
• Health Clearance
• Drug Testing
• Proof of Health Insurance
• Proof of Motor Vehicle Insurance
*The Advanced Pharmacology course must be completed within the last 5 years of the date of application for the California Board of Registered Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number.
